I like the concept and this site will help to determine the value that NHL GM's place on picks https://www.broadstreethockey.com/2013/4/25/4262594/nhl-draft-pick-value-trading-up
If I were Botterill I would jump all over that trade for 2020 picks. I can almost assure you that they will not be bottom feeders that year. It it too risky to trade for future picks, it is done, but normally only in the same year and only when one team has a specific player for which that they want to draft.
