The Methot deal is a cap dump and that’s about what you’d get for him.

I don’t see Montreal moving Galchenyuk unless they get a good roster player, a 1st round pick, and a prospect. And that would all have to happen BEFORE this years draft. If they decide to move Galchenyuk after this years draft, he’s likely going to be a trade deadline move. I don’t see them parting with him over the offseason after the draft.

The Rangers trade is just bad. You want New York to give up a 1st Round Pick for a cap dump (Spezza) and a 4th line grinder (Ritchie). The Rangers hang up on you pretty quick if that’s the offer. For a 1st round pick in this years draft, you’re looking at having to deal a top prospect or a good prospect + a couple picks.
