Description
I think one of the Min 3 of Nino, Coyle, or Zucker would be a great fit on the flames, and there are rumors that MIN will trade one packaged with Ennis. This is trying to figure out what the package would look like from the flames to land one of them. In order of Preference I think I would go Zucker, Nino, Coyle. This trade includes Zucker, but could also be the basis for a Nino trade. For Coyle I might switch the Kylington to Matthew Philips / Mason McDonald level as I don't think he holds the same value as the other 2.

This assumes we bridge Hanifin on a 3yr deal so that we get another contract in before he's UFA.

Ennis comes off the books next year, and Brouwer can be bought out, leaving enough room to sign Chucky to his big raise. If the cap is needed this year, Ennis could be sent to the minors to free up around $1mm.

  1. Ennis, Tyler
Additional Details:
Rights to Zucker
MIN
  1. Kylington, Oliver
  2. Mangiapane, Andrew
  3. 2019 3rd round pick (CGY)
Additional Details:
Mangiapane is cost controlled and ready to step into the NHL next season as a 3-4 line guy. A little undersized, but he has the potential to be a top 6 forward. Kylington is also looking close to ready and would be a cheap #5-6 option for Min with the potential to grow into a #2-4.

You know Hanifin's team wanted something in the 6 year $5 AAV range right? Can't seem them coming that far down from that number. $4 AAV is the minimum I could see him getting.

I did hear that, but I don't see them getting that based on play right now. I am hoping that Tre will bridge him for 2-3 years on a reasonable raise and then he can prove he is worth $5mm a year (or likely more). $2.5MM might be low for the bridge deal, but I would think it would be south of $4MM.

Your right though, it they go long-term with Hanifin then that blows the budget for this roster.

Kylington does nothing for MN. They have 2 or 3 guys that can be described the same way as LD prospects already. Mangiapane doesn't do much either, again similar guys (not as prolific AHL numbers though), in the Wild pool already.

I know Ennis is a big -, but I'd want something useful this year in return for Zucker.

Agreed. To add, the Wild would be better off buying out Ennis than trading him with Zucker to get a lower return. We have enough cap space to afford a buy out.
