Description
This assumes TOR signs Tavares and needs to move out Nylander to make room. I'd prefer Marner, but I don't see that happening.

This is all kinds of nope. It makes zero sense from a Toronto perspective. Liljegren is a better prospect than either of the guys you mention. So why would TO send Nylander for two prospects that add nothing to the lineup currently? If you are running on the idea that JT signed in TO, and this is to make room for the cap next season, then I can understand the potential for a needed move by TO. However, Nylander can net a hell of a lot more than a 2nd and two prospects, neither of which are top level prospects.

Besides all of the above, if TO needs to make space next year, there are far lesser players that can be moved to make room. My point being, this trade only has value for Calgary. Dubas says no.

My guess is Nylander would cost more like Hamonic plus the package you mentioned.

I agree. Even if TO is looking to move Nylander to make room for Taveres, they would likely want a little more; maybe swap out Mangiapane for Bennett or Frolik

Bennett is fast tracking towards being a bust and Frolik is too old and costly. Honestly Calgary has very little that Toronto would want. Especially now that Hamilton is gone.
