I guess you guys will have much better choices at right shot dmen who can be a plus rating on a shitty team (as Tanev was)? Wait........? I'll let you come back with an option....

As more Right shot D re-sign with their teams (and you know you aint getting Karlsson now), your choices run out, so guess what, there will be a market for him. Maybe there's a swapping of draft picks or something, but theres a framework there.

I'd rather bet on Nylander early, especially playing with two up and coming fellow Swedish stars like Pettersson and Dahlen. If you can use up some UFA years I'd gamble.

Could you please name a player who isn't aging/ getting old?

There is a market for Tanev.

Tanev is a fringe #2 on a good team but is more of a solid #3 or #4 dman. Pretty sure he'll take a discount to re-sign at home with a good team in Toronto. Ever since 2013/ 14 (the first year he didn't spend any time in the minors) Tanev has suited up for at least 60% of games (his lowest being this year a tad over 60%). He's averaged roughly 70% of games played per season. He isn't offensive because he's a defensive defenceman and none of his defensive counterparts produce much from the backend.

So by your own description....a 28 year old 3rd/4th dman who plays 70% of the time & is a UFA in 2 years....is worth Nylander straight up....whose not a UFA for 5+ years.

Does that make sense to you? Would you trade Boeser for Tanev ? Because Nylander has proven more then Boeser with back to back 60+ point seasons.

I didn’t say that Tanev is worth Nylander. If anything I meant to say it could be a base for a trade where Vancouver would be adding a few more pieces to get the deal done.

So why is it a 1 for 1 trade above then ?

      NVM.....it's not your team !
