Unless you want to give up Eichel (with salary retention) and/or Dahlin, Yzerman will just laugh at you if you ask about Kucherov. He scored 100 points and was the best forward on the League's best offense last year, and almost single handedly dragged them into the playoffs the year before. The criticism about him disappearing in the playoffs is unwarranted, as he scored over a point per game, and Yzerman would demand a massive overpayment. It's also harder to make these trades with the Lightning, since Yzerman is so incredibly reluctant to sacrifice prospects or break up team chemistry. You could offer Eichel with 50% retention, Dahlin, and a first round pick, and agree to take on Killorn or Callahan, and he'd still be reluctant to give up Kucherov. Anything less than that, he likely wouldn't even take seriously. And that's a massive overpayment, even for an elite scorer like Kucherov.
