Description
Potential TB Roster if they trade for EK
Trades
1.
TBL
  1. 2019 6th round pick (NYR)
NYR
  1. Callahan, Ryan
  2. 2019 3rd round pick (TBL)
  3. 2019 6th round pick (TBL)
Additional Details:
Cap Dump for TB. They get a low pick in next year's draft, and the Rangers get their old captain back (good leadership for younger group), doesn't need top minutes, and they have plenty of cap space (with no problem spending to the limit).
2.
TBL
  1. 2019 6th round pick (DAL)
  2. 2020 4th round pick (DAL)
DAL
  1. Killorn, Alex
Additional Details:
Killorn can still be a useful player. He has gotten ~40 points in each of his five full seasons, and he is an iron man, missing just 13 games in the past five years. He also provides solid leadership. He is a top nine forward, who has a solid two-way game.
3.
TBL
  1. Karlsson, Erik
Additional Details:
Ottawa gets the defenseman stud they want, plus a talented forward prospect and two picks in the 2020 Draft (for a guy who is going to walk at the end of the year and everyone knows it).
OTT
  1. Raddysh, Taylor
  2. Sergachev, Mikhail
  3. 2020 2nd round pick (TBL)
  4. 2020 4th round pick (DAL)
Additional Details:
You got Hedman and McDonagh as your 1-2 on the left, with Sergachev being a lefty it makes sense to target a RD, which then bumps Stralman to 2nd pair. Raddysh is a very solid forward prospect

Dallas is not far from being a legitimate contender, and like Tampa they have low income tax, meaning it is possible he waives his NTC. As far as being hard to move, Dallas needs more depth at the wings, and Killorn would be a solid addition for them, especially for just a 4th and 6th. He has offensive upside with a strong 2 way game, and seeing as how they missed out on EK (in this universe), they have the cap space to do it.

Fair point to TB not having to trade him though, but if you look at my roster for the next year, they have to, so whether they trade him this year or the next it doesn't make a difference, just as long as they do it. Plus, this gives them some cap space at the deadline to get a rental or two to make a big push for the cup after falling short the past few seasons.

the 2020 2nd would need to be a first in 2020.

the picks in the rangers trade would have to be changed to foote or a 1st rounder to take back callahan. or both if you want the conditional pick in 2019 back

The Rangers aren't getting a top prospect or a 1st rounder for taking on Callahan for one year. the 3d could change to a 2nd, and maybe a B prospect who likely won't make it, but nothing more. The guy can still play, and got ~0.33 PPG last year. Plus, the Rangers are getting their old captain back, who is a good locker room guy, good defensively, and can provide veteran leadership for young guys. the move makes sense for the Rangers, and with one year left (and presumably plenty of cap space), it is relatively low risk for them, and they could buy hime out if they really wanted to. They get some picks out of it to help with the rebuild, and maybe a B prospect as i said.

If the Rangers want a 1st, Foote, or any other solid prospect, the deal isn't happening.
