Description
based on the fact that Tampa hasn't dealt for Karlsson yet, I assume they are not willing to part with some key pieces that would bring the sens capitan to the beautiful Tampa Bay Area. Because trouba seems to not want to stay in Winnipeg why not secure a solid, young defensemen with decent offensive talent for a hell of a lot less than what Erik Karlsson would cost. :)

I think it a logical trade for both teams. Johnson's NTC probably cancels the deal though.

Agreed. On one hand, I could see Johnson waive his NTC for another contender like WPG if he thought he would get to play a bigger role. But moving from the 39% TBL tax to the 50% WPG tax...

Trouba is young, you will have to likely give Foote to jets too.

I don't believe any of these tax rates are used by folks on this site. They are personal tax rates....not corporate rates that many athletes pay. In Canada, tax rates are largely based on "residence" not where the income is earned. Johnson being a American would likely would get some so "relief"as he likely does not lives outside Canada for more than 183 days a year. MLB players certainly don't pay top end Canadian personal income tax rates for playing their home. games and being employed by a Canadian employer.
