Dear lord no. We'll clear Perreault, but consider that Perreault has the same rate of offense as Nugent-Hopkins and the same injury history over the last three seasons, a landslide of better possession metrics over his career, and 2 million per year less. The only thing Nuge has going for him is that he can play center. Now also consider that the majority of his offense comes as a winger McDavid's line. If you switched Perrault's name with Nugent-Hopkins you would not make that trade. Don't make that trade with a comparable player.
As for Trouba, 30 other teams have put up mock trades for Trouba in the last 24 hours. If that doesn't tell you something about his value, then you haven't been paying attention. If Philly wants Trouba, it will cost them Simmonds, a 1st, and a helluva prospect. Probably Phillipe Myers. And maybe even more than that, considering at this point Simmonds has more scar tissue than actual soft tissue.
As for Perrault, he can get us at least a 2nd or a late 1st in pick-exchange on his own. Whether or not fans of this site, would like to admit that, his numbers don't lie, and I'd imagine knowing how to type natural stat trick into an address bar is part of the job requirement for an NHL GM.
