Trades

TOR
  1. Faulk, Justin ($1,000,000 retained)
Additional Details:
I'm not a total Faulk-fan but among available defenders he's the most likely to be traded for peanuts. In Grundström they get a possible 15 g, 25p third line player. Timashov might not reach level of a regular NHL player, he can be a top player in Charlotte Checkers and they get two second round picks.
Considering he's likely to be the third pairing RD in Hurricanes they should see this as a decent offer, even if it's with retained salary.
CAR
  1. Grundström, Carl
  2. Timashov, Dmytro
  3. 2020 2nd round pick (TOR)
  4. 2021 2nd round pick (TOR)
2.
VAN

  2. 2019 4th round pick (TOR)

Great. So now we will have 2 defensive liabilities on the right side to go with the one on the left...

How many goalies do the Leafs need? Right now they have six. Rather take my chances on Carrick clearing waivers than trading him for an unneeded goalie. Personally I wouldn't do the Cane deal but that's is probably what it takes to get Faulk. Grunstrom look like a sure NHLer to me.

Could send one back, Nilsson is an upgrade from every other backup they have. The trade isn't to get rid of Carrick, it's to get Nilsson.

Sorry you don't know about Mcillerney. He could have been best back up in the league last year. Both him and Nilsson are UFAs next season, But if Nilsson is as good as you say, he she could more than was in this trade.
