I was expecting him to go back to the Q to develop more. Granted, that’s still where he likely ends up this year. But if that’s the case, I’d think they would have left him unsigned until he was NHL ready.

So the fact he’s just signed a contract means he’s at least close to NHL ready or on track to be by next year. Absolutely cause for optimism.

Dobson is better suited going back to the QMJHL he is not NHL ready you don't need to rush him the Islanders aren't making the playoffs this year anyway
