Description
Sens look like they are going to be crushed by this Management. Wondering what STL fans would think of adding a Star player at the expense of a couple youths.
Trades
STL
  1. Stone, Mark ($3,675,000 retained)
OTT
  1. Fabbri, Robby
  2. Kyrou, Jordan
  3. Soshnikov, Nikita
Additional Details:
You guys have a lot of cap coming off next off season to resign him and are primed to make a huge cup push this season. Stone was on pace for 87 points last season with our team. Really opens Tarasenko up, match up wise as well.

You're at the cap and still need 3 players on your roster...you need to move money out to make this work

A team is not required to carry 23 players. While many do, there are a handful of teams that carry less than 23

would probably only work if you can move a contract. Steen is really the only big contract that goes past this year... doubt he waives his NTC for Ottawa though. But if he did and the trade was Fabbri, Kyrou, Steen for Stone I would say yes.

Schwartz Schenn Stone
Maroon O'Reilly Tarasenko
Perron Bozak Thomas
Jaskin Barbashev Thorbs/whoever looks good in AHL

Why do you think it's called a "23 man roster"?? They keep 3 extra guys because injuries happens all the time. Whether it's a cold, flu, personnal reason, broken arm, torn acl, etc. There's always a guy missing 1 or 2 games here and there. What happens when one guy is out for a week and you need to call up a player from the minors? There's not a lot of injuries that allowed the player's contract to be put on LTIR (they rarely do)...You'll automaticly be above the cap and that isn't allowed.

That's why teams always carry 23 players in the NHL. On extremely rare occasion, it'll happen that a team will have 22 for a very short period of time, but that gets corrected very fast and is very rare.

So let's stick to what happens 99.9% of the time and leave the extreme rarities on the side, shall we?

Last year, the Caps carried 22 throughout almost the entire season, so they would have one extra spot flexible to injuries. This is typical of a Barry Trotz team, as well as a few other coaches throughout the league. So it isn't "very rare"
