Carolina take this because....? You’re after the star player, you want their newly acquired defence man and are giving up a cap dump, a 2C (that’s what he has been in Edmonton, I know he probably flourishes as a 1C but at the price of Aho? No) and a decent prospect. For Aho and Dougie you’re looking at Puljarvi Draisatl and prospects. Dougie has more value then Drai, Aho has more value then Puljarvi.

I think you are overvaluing your shinny new toy. Drai is a #1C he just happens to be on a team with McDavid. I do agree that Aho has more value then Puljujärvi, but the difference isnt there to make up the gap on a trade involving the 4 of them.

As a canes fan I just see no reason. As stated prior he’s always been a 2C. When he was first drafted he was behind RNH now he’s behind imo the 2nd best player in the league and most consider the most talented player in the league, but he hasn’t proven himself as a 1C. Aho was drafted as a C has played top line minutes for most of his career and imo has the most value in this trade. Yes drai has better stats etc but Aho is more compatible with any situation. He is also better in the D zone. Dougie is a shiny new toy and I look at his advanced stats and I form hearts in my eyes but he is one of the best D men in the league.
