Why on earth would Nylander make more than Paternak? He is going to make 6.25 to 6.5. if it is more fire the gm. Just because everyone else wants to overpay our guys doesn't mean it's going to happen. Marner is not much better than Nylander, just has a higher ceiling, so if he signs this year (not likely) 6.75 to 7. If he signs next year, it is dependant on how he and Tavares interact, but 7.5 is about right. Where on earth are you pulling 9 and 7 out of? That would be more than Drisaitle (can't spell), which was an overpayment. Not every gm is Peter Chiarelli.

I saw on twitter that Marner wants what Matthews gets. 9 is fair

Marner is not getting what Matthews wants. Firstly, he is not as good. He is Nylander with a higher ceiling. Secondly, he is a RFA with no ARB rights. He gets what the team gives him. Get a fair deal with Nylander, means Marner will get a fair deal, then sign Matthews to whatever you want (up to 11) and you can keep everyone under the cap with no trades. Just because a player wants something doesn't mean they get it. No one gives Marner 9. He is not worth that. If he signs today it's 6.75 because that's what he is worth. Next year that number will go up likely, but as of right now, he'd be lucky to get a number with a 7 at the start

Get some better sources on Twitter. I’m sure you bought into all those brown Nielsen and a second for anybody in the nhl trades too...
