Description
Gives the Bruins a young Power Forward to use on Krejci's line. Ritchie is holding out as an RFA at the moment and could thrive in Boston.
As well, would diversify the style of young players the Bruins have right now. Stat line is not as good as Heinen but would fill a systematic need for the Bruins.

So swap a 50 point wing for a 30 point wing.

oh boy
1. this trade is horrendous, heinen is just worlds better than ritchie.
2. What on earth has given you the impression that ritchie is a top six caliber player besides his draft position?
3. What on earth makes you think he is worth danton heinen?
4. What makes you think he deserves 2.5 per year?
5. This contract likely results in cap overages due to bonuses.

I don't mind the idea of going after ritchie, but give up less, pay him less, and play him less.

Correct. As said in the description, I personally would rather bring in a young power forward than have Heinen when there is Bjork and Donato showing greater potential at the moment. Even though Donato sat out last game, his issues in the defensive zone are teachable to overcome.

That's just what I would rather see.

Heinen will probably be sitting out one of the next few games, potentially tonight against Detroit. 2 shots in 4 games with 0 points and being nearly invisible is a tough go

they're rotating guys through because they have too many players deserving of ice time.

donato has looked like hot garbage so far this year.

Honestly what makes you think Heinen is a top 6 player with how he has played to start they year. Even Nordstrom, what shows he's a top 6 player. Thing is the Bruins don't have another top 6 player who can slide in. Even if Ritchie plays on the third line, I can see him contributing more than Heinen is.

Again I say it's my opinion but if you think Heinen is top 6 quality which he hasn't shown over the last 2 years and you truly think he's going to be one within the next year then I'm all for it. I'm just seeing it how it is right now.
