Dubas wasn't joking when he said he couldn't go above $6 million, but he was hoping Nylander would give a discount in exchange for nothing. Now the only way to maximize value of RFA years is to sign a short deal that will hold until he is traded to a team that will roll as many of those years into a long term extension. So a 2 year deal instead of the 8 it should be, basically playing defense against an offer sheet.

Babcock will have to find another whipping boy, too bad it won't be Shanahan. Those 2 morons are behind choosing 3 years of Marleau over a career of Nylander
