Maybe I'm missing something, but aren't the Blues at or over the cap right now? Even retaining $1M of Leddy's $5.5M doesn't help them. And why do they need a LD? And from what I heard, they think Robert Thomas is the next coming of Mathew Barzal. I don't see the interest here.

I like Leddy a lot, but in no way am I considering trading Thomas for him. Hasn’t he been garbage since January?

he's been garbage because they are using him as a top pairing defense man when he is not one, and also the awful coaching of Jack Crapuano and Dead Weight had him focus solely on producing offense and ignore defense, which slowly but surely is getting corrected by the Trotz staff. he's a great puck mover and great at offensive possession, but with Toews who is more suited to a top pairing role ready to come up, and the fact that Boychuck is locked in with NTC, moving leddy is the best thing for the franchise
