the alzner trade doesn't work for colorado. he's prob gonna be bought out. pleky can fetch more at the tdl. at least a 3rd rd pick. depends how many centers are available at tdl.

I agree about Plecky. It is speculative and we will see. Alzner to Colorado was only to move him. He can go to any team. I think if some teams get hit with injury bug and Habs retain salary, hopefully but highly unlikely.

I would not be surprised if Pleky retired after his injury heals. He gets his money, basks in one more Bell Centre love in, and spends the rest of the season helping on ice.
It's good asset management to trade him for a pick, but at the same time, is he going to want to leave Montreal and his kids for a few more games? And is he gonna be that much in demand if his back injury is bad enough to keep him out so long?

i think he'll head to kladno in the czech republic for the next few seasons. i'd love it if the habs hire him as a member of the coaching or scouting staff

Yeah, he's quoted as saying he wants a few more years playing at home before he's done. I think after that, maybe back with the Habs. I just think his NHL player time might be over. Or at least, I have this gut feeling.
