i mean not only is he younger , has more potential and isnt a pending UFA this year and basically an older version of Hudon who's game is defined by speed .
i get it everyone on this site hates any prospect thats from MTL but Donskoi a 3rd line UFA being traded for a former 1st round 22 year old prospect.

this site was full of people who **** talked me all summer saying '' you didnt change your roster that much you'll never win a game '' but here we are with MTL 1st in the East and 4th in the NHL.
i dont get why fans over value all their players but short change MTL the same way they did WPG 3 years back constantly running down their prospects

i'd take Dillion and Shaw out of the trade though it complicates the situation less .
If MB can trade Weise and Fleischmans UFA Rights to CHI for Danault's RFA rights and a 2nd we used to Select Alexander Romanov (described as Emelin style big Hitter with offensive upside . )
i'm sure getting a UFA will take half as much effort as trying to pawn one off

Sharks think they are a cup contender and right now Donskoi is better than Scherbak. Next year i doubt i can say the same thing. But they are not going to downgrade the current roster. As you say. Take out the peripherals in the deal and maybe they talk.

what about Hudon a similar style player who's younger and coming off a 30 point rookie season
and Scherbak with a 4th for Donskoi ?

this way SJS still has its needs met , MTL doesnt lose anything it was using and MTL gains another FINN to play with Kotkanemi on offense this year .
if he works out great if not just being there speaking Finnish with the rookie helping him Adjust to life in MTL after a year or two of that it will be less important but right now anything we can do to help him feel comfortable the better. re-sign Donskoi to a 2 year deal and play him until Suzuki ,Poehling or Evans push him out of a roster spot .
