Are you at least going to by the jets and stars dinner before you do that to them?

What's so bad about the trades? Kulikov is unloaded at a modest price. Unless Copp has more value than I think, so correct me if I am wrong there. Dallas trade would be giving guys a change of scenery. I'm guessing Ceci might have more value since he's played longer and looked at least "okay" at times.

I thought kulikov was ufa after this season, my bad. That might actually help loosen cap... but ceci... yuck, I guess the only good part is that you don’t have to send him a QA... but why give up on honka and give up picks for a guy you know is bad and certainly not worth his contract.

Yeah, that's true. I could see some dumb GM jumping at Ceci's "potential" though.

The problem for Ceci the last 3 years, is how has been used under Boucher. Look at EV+PK TOI, he is the most used shutdown D-man in the whole NHL... and he's not even supposed to be a shutdown D. I doubt Dallas would be stupid too to use him like that. The good thing in Dallas is he would clearly be the #4 because they have 3 excellent D-men in Klingberg, Lindell and Heiskanen. Dallas is a team where Ceci could be fine, playing 19 mins a night in a normal deployment. If they are giving up on Honka, I would actually pull the trigger if I was Dallas.

And they don't really give "picks". They swap a 3rd for 4th (small difference in value) and give up a 6th (value for a depth player at the deadline). It's very close to a Ceci-Honka swap.
