Description

I think this trade works for both teams. The rangers are in a position where they need to accumulate young assets for their future, while the flames are trying to push for a deep playoff run. The flames get a consistent 50 pt guy on a very nice team friendly deal and can therefore add more pieces and stay under the cap. The rangers are taking a chance on Bennett who has not shown in the past that he should be elite but hasnt put the pieces together yet and think a change of scenery may do him some good. let me know what you guys think of the value and whether some pieces need to be added on either side to balance the value.

I would not want to give up Sam a 22 YR old RFA who still has significant upside, for Zuccarello a 31 year old UFA with one more goal than James Neal this year.

With players like Neal and Ryan we already have more than enough 30+ players - trades like this is what can get you into an LA type of situation.

If we are to move Bennett it should be in a package that helps us deal with the GODAWFUL Mike Smith situation!
