Description
i just love when everybody loses their minds over a very slow, bad start. as if it hasn't happened to the penguins before. just a few years ago everybody was saying sid and the penguins were washed up and done, so what did they do? oh just go and win back to back cups. something that has never been done in the salary cap era. nobody likes losing but if there is one team who knows how to turn it around, it's the penguins.

Those years were extremely different from NHL today. Pens switched and moved to speed, which no other team was. Now they signed washed up old vets. This defense has been the worse it’s been in years. They need major changes

everyone talks about speed like the penguins invented it. there were plenty of fast teams, mainly eastern teams. a "major change" won't fix anything so much as make it worse. GMJR will make a few moves or two like he always does and the penguins will play out of this slump

You are 100% right, but they need to make some changes just like they did in 2016. If Rutherford hadn’t made those key moves, (Daley, hagalin, Schultz, AHL call ups, etc...) pens would not have won the cup. They absolutely could still contend and I think they will. They need some changes tho

No I don’t think there were many fast teams. A lot of the teams were big heavy hitting teams. Boston for example was a strong tough team. Pittsburgh made the change to build a speedy team, and now other teams followed

agree that some changes need to be made but it hurts my brain seeing some penguins fan thinking we should just fire sully and sell the whole team because of a slump. you already know GMJR is plotting to make some good trades as he always does. he'll find the next hagelin, schultz, daley , ect.
