I think thats a big pay cut hes taking if he keeps up his pace, however maybe he has a head on his shoulders and would rather have a good chance to win a cup or 2 then when this contract is up go for the big ticket, not like that nylander guy

Point is a Centre, good luck with that. Young studs like point aren't getting bridge deals anymore. He's better than Draisaitl and is going to get 8 minimum.

unless he takes 6.5 for 3 years and then takes 9-10 (if he keeps getting better and better) for 8 years

Look how well that idea is going in Toronto and Tampa isn't some magical land where people just accept less because they can. Kucherov was the last player to get a deal like that and it won't likely happen again.

thats one of the positives of being in a tax sheltered market, 6.5 in tampa is like 8.5-9 in toronto
