You traded Määttä, Sheahan, and DeSmith for Yakupov v2 and a guy that just got traded for a 6th?
I assume that you are a Flyers fan...
Hello troll, have you been fed recently?
I am going to say this once and only once. You are not welcome on any of my posts or to comment/quote on anything typed by me. All you do is bait others into arguments and insult them.
Apparently you couldn't get past the title, which clearly stated in plain English that this is unrealistic yet you felt a need to make some stupid, wise ass comment while sitting behind the protection of your computer. So Mr. Keyboard Warrior, I will explain this trade to you. Maatta might be the slowest skater in the entire league, his puck management decisions are horrendous and he makes 4 million per year. He has had enough time to get his skating to NHL level and he is either too lazy or all his medical conditions and injuries have caught up to him. Either way, it hasn't happened. He will never live up to his expectations. He is not worth 4 million per year. Sheahan is on an expiring contract and even though he showed promise last season, he has not performed thus far. Yes, his quality of linemates aren't the best but he hasn't exactly stopped time when he was promoted up a line when there were injuries. Do I think he has value to Pens? Yes I do but if they can shed salary to acquire a better option to their top 6 forward group or even their top 4 d pairings, I'm all for moving him. DeSmith has played well recently so why not get something while his value is worthwhile. Jarry is touted as the better netminder and he's younger and can perform the backup role respectively even though you purposely skipped past my first transaction and ignored the fact I signed Steve Mason as backup.
I know what your response will be. Maatta is a young defenseman on a serviceable contract, yada yada yada. I don't wanna hear it! You will lose all credibility and respect by anyone that follows the Penguins and is knowledgeable in the sport of hockey if you say that. You don't need two Jack Johnson types on a team, especially when everyone knows JJ will not be getting traded anytime soon because he is friends with Crosby. I can also bet to hear about Sheahan is a great 4th line center. Everyone knows having 4 competent scoring lines is what brings you success in today's NHL. It's a thing of the past to have your bottom 6 forwards in shutdown/defensive roles. It's just typical hometown fans believing their players are of more value than they actually are and it's not intelligent. Do yourself a favor and read this. Read it again just you don't miss anything I wrote and then add me to your ignore list. This discussion and conversation are over and I'm not interested in entertaining any sort of dialect of any manner with you in the future.
