Description

I'm a big fan of Brown (and he can drive this 4th line) so I'm cutting cap by getting rid of Zaitsev. I think the Leafs can give him some PP2 time and more offence later in the season to inflate his numbers a little and prove that he can. The deal could be to any team in the league in the offseason as long as the return is a lower cap hit and Dubas feels they can roll with Rielly.

I don't think Marner (as a winger coming off his ELC) gets $9M. I think Matthews is closer to Eichel than McDavid in terms of value but still more than JT.

Kappy and Johnsson gets deals around the bridges Brown and Hyman got.

Not sure if Moore, Liljgeren, Sandin, Borgmann, Grundstrom, Engvall etc stick, but I think they get a chance out of camp. I'm above a 82M cap but there's extra scratches so relax.

I'd rather them trade Zaitsev to Dallas to get Carrick back over Gudas. Gudas is a plug. Polak is equal to him, trade for Polak if anything.

I agree, but they wouldn't need to trade for either of those guys as of right now so could they could still get something else (even picks) for Zaitsev just to shave his cap hit.

So if they are looking to save cap space, why would they pick up a plug making close to 3.5 million. Zaitsev is worth twice as much as Gudas, I'd rather spend an extra million and keep Zaitsev.
