Oilers have enough cap issues without taking on some much money without sending money back to Rangers. And really Staal and Namestikov aren't worth their contracts. There is this big misconception that teams can dump unwanted players expensive players (especially those with NTCs) just so they can create cap space. The Oilers would be 100 times better off (if they had the cap) to overpay a good UFA then to take on those two guys.

Rangers Pass on every deal here. 2020 1st is too valuable. Even for Staal when we can just buy out next year. Swap Kreider with Zucc and the deal works. Namestnikov is a top 6 guy. Not going for a kid off waivers. Try again.
