This is what the team would look like if we had made minimal moves and smaller free agent signings.

If we hadnt made the trade for Griffen Reinhardt we could have used that years 1st and 2nd on Chabot and Aho.

Had we not traded Hall and Eberle we we would have scoring wingers.

I didnt include anyone from the 2018 Draft as I dont think we would be picking 10th overall. Yamamoto was included as he was a late enough pick.

The trade of Talbot and signing of Rieder and Brodziak and Russell were all no brainer small moves.

Chia has destroyed this team.

Right, I'm more so saying both Aho and Chabot were taken right after picks that the Oilers traded for Reinhardt, you can do it with Barzal and Dermott or Carlo too if you wanted to

Boston had three chance to take barzal and connor but they passed on them

Sure, its impossible to know how draft picks woulda turned out. And the small specific adds that you mentioned are kinda moot too. I think the bigger point is that there's lots of cap space with your mock up and a pretty crazy good balanced roster that wouldn't have been difficult to fill out with small moves. Imo hockey is better when certain teams are going good. The Oilers are one of those teams that I want see doing well. Its crazy to me to witness how they're being managed.
