no, thing being that was the first pairing the other day. To me, pairing is nothing, ice time is all that matters, my question is why is Miller on the PP, Krejci should be on the top PP line while Heinen should take the 2nd line PP.

Pairing usually suggests who's playing against the other teams top lines imo. Krug is the leader in atoi, but you wouldn't put a preference on him to go out against the other teams top scorers. 3rd pair gets the best matchups and top pair plays the hardest minutes. Atleast that's the way I look at it.

true, but Nordstrom - Wagner - Backes was first line during a game around a month ago... I know the pairing is important but... I don't know... Its all up to the coach

I'm not talking about who's on the ice for the first shift lol. That's not the top pairing, the top pairing is the team who plays against the oppositions best.
