No, maybe, no, yes. Yakupov had become a decent third line winger by the time he left to go to the KHL, and honestly he did an excellent job of complementing high end players, but he could never drive a line of his own, hence why he struggled in a limited role on a bad team. He did great in Sarnia with Galchenyuk, Boucher, Spooner, and Ritchie, but he never cut it afterwards. He did well with Hall in his rookie year, but never found his stride after he lost that role. Honestly, it the result of winning a shallow draft. Only 5 of the 15 forwards drafted in the first round that year held a top six role for any extended period of time. 10 of 20 the next and 11 of 19 the previous year held top 6 roles for more than a year. It was bad luck more than anything.

the thing is. The oilers had coaching changes and Yakupov never got used to a style of play i think thats why he became bad because he didnt know how he was supposed to play
