Not sure about Schneider, but I know it's a good possibility he is on the move in NJ. It may take a better prospect, a pick something else... but I think it's someone that is a possibility for us. Also, rumors suggest Vegas is a team Steen would go to. Not sure a deal can be made there, but found players Vegas may be willing to part with and I think Haula is a serviceable guy. Krug would be a great Dman to put with Petro and allow Edmundson and Parayko to stay together on the second pairing. Maybe I'm crazy, just spitballing here....

Schneider has been terrible since his injury a couple of years back. He's hovering around .900 instead of his previous .925. He's not just going to recover from injury and return to glory as a 30-something year old

I get that, maybe we dont eat salary or they take some of his, but we have to have someone. I dont think they will go after Brob cause its too much money. The only other person I think may be possible is Talbot, but not sure thats much more improvement. I wouldnt mind Jimmy Howard, but I think he stays in Detroit. Right now, all we need is someone who can stop the puck consistently. Doesnt need to be a stud, just someone who can play consistently.

And thus far, Binnington has shown in a small sample size that he can be that man. No way he keeps up the present 97% save percentage, but if he drop 7%, he's still better than Allen, cheaper, younger with room to grow. I watch every game, and his positioning is stellar. He doesn't have the physical athleticism of Allen (few in fact do), but he's got a head attached to his tools, whereas Allen...not so much. I'd ride out Binnington for the remainder of the year unless it just becomes obvious that he is overmatched. So far, he has not given any indication of that, but I will add, we haven't seen his response to a 5-1 shelling type of game yet either. That's what I want to see. How well he can shrug off a terrible game.

I also understand what you're saying about Binnington, but how many times are Blues fans going to put their hope in a young goalie who has a couple good games? Remember Jake Allen started off the same way. We are 3 points out of a playoff spot right now with games in hand. I don't think you put your trust in a rookie goalie with 3 starts, doesn't matter how good he has looked. You have a back up plan. If you don't like Schneider, I get it. Injuries and age concern me as well, also the $6m a year. I admit thats a risk. Again, these are ideas. What about the other trades?

Of the goalies that seem to be available which would you choose? Brob ( I think he is going to want to much money) Howard, Talbot, Elliott ( I really dont see this happening), Schneider. Unfortunately there doesnt seem to be much out there as far as goalies are concerned.
