MIN
  1. Draisaitl, Leon
  2. Spooner, Ryan
Additional Details:
This trade happens this summer. Spooner to be bought out by the Wild. Taking on Spooner's contract has a lot of value...especially for the cap-strapped Oilers.
EDM
  1. Granlund, Mikael
  2. Zucker, Jason
Additional Details:
Spooner's caphit will be $1,333,333 for the 19/20 and 20/21 seasons. Without looking into this entirely, I am assuming the Wild can swing this with entry level contract players and bigger contracts coming off the books.

Puljujarvi + Spooner + another small piece like a B prospect or 3rd rounder for Coyle

Drai is untouchable, it's going to take a lot more than a cap dump favor to get him

Not considering any of those from the Oilers. I would do Spooner + Marody + 3rd for Coyle. If you ask nice, I might switch it to a 2nd.

Out of curiosty, what could the oilers have given up for Nino. He’s a big scoring winger, having a bad year, but locked up with some term left. He’s exactly what the Oilers need. When I saw Rask is all that he cost, I was surprised. I know it would be tough to make a trade with a team that you are competing for a playoff spot against, but the seasons only half over and it’s not like we are divisional rivals.

Would Spooner/Manning (cap reasons) + Yamamoto + 2nd get Nino? Or we could add Reider and Minny adds Coyle. Thoughts?
