Playing with McDavid will certainly boost his stats which in turn could boost his value in the free agency market next year---givin his age this will probably be his last big payday on the open market so his agent is probably talking in his ear(pad the stats-pad the stats) ----Same goes for all the wings expiring NTC contracts-------there is no great reason to stay in Detroit right now, its either go for the playoff run or go for the payday----At this stage of the season Its like three months away from home (considering they are on the road half the time anyways, its nothing that they are not used too) , The NTC just gives them more leverage that's all, If they like Detroit that much they can always resign next year(but hopefully not as I don't want to overpay for him-he only shows up in contract years).
