16-Source Aggregate Mock Draft
I would rather the wings go left defense or scoring with the first pick, they have plenty of draft ammunition to try and move up for Cossa (#21, and extra mid rounders)

what to do what to do what to do
we will take Killorn but with maybe pick swaps- Its basically freeing up cap for Tampa- A 31+, 30 point forward at 4mill does us no good- svechnikov would probably get that many points if was a regular in the lineup for less than a mil. Tampa would have to deal picks to us to take.

TDL Deal w Caps
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DiehardRedWingsFan58</b></div><div>Detroit :laugh At that offer, No way Detroit retains half of Nyquist without the Caps 2019 1st round pick coming back. For the last time Detroit doesn't need Burakovsky coming back we've no need for him. Our interest would be in Bowey only not Burakovsky.</div></div>
Detroit needs alot of things and taking on a bigger faster younger wing (and a RFA to boot) at a much lower cap hit isnt a bad gamble considering detroit is two years (or more) away from contending and Nyquist will never be better then he is right now. So if they could him and a pick sounds like a big win for detroit.(especially since they will probably resign him in the summer anyways)

OFFSEASON Steve Yzerman Quinnville
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Larkinisking</b></div><div>Edmonton is just as bad as Detroit right now, No way he waives for that dumpster fire.</div></div>
True that Nyquist has the power to decide where he goes, but what we don't know is his motivation. Playing with McDavid will certainly boost his stats which in turn could boost his value in the free agency market next year---givin his age this will probably be his last big payday on the open market so his agent is probably talking in his ear(pad the stats-pad the stats) ----Same goes for all the wings expiring NTC contracts-------there is no great reason to stay in Detroit right now, its either go for the playoff run or go for the payday----At this stage of the season Its like three months away from home (considering they are on the road half the time anyways, its nothing that they are not used too) , The NTC just gives them more leverage that's all, If they like Detroit that much they can always resign next year(but hopefully not as I don't want to overpay for him-he only shows up in contract years).

Detroit
If Montreal will retain the 1.5, I think the Wings should do the deal- 20 Mil coming off the books anyways next year and doubtful any of the current roster free agents at seasons end will get any offers so the 2.4 mil figure for Shaw's veteran presence doesn't sound that bad(would be one of the better deals on the roster and he would be a trade asset for next years deadline) and getting 3rd rounder to boot (sold-i like him but doubtful glendening nets a third by himself)

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mikearky</b></div><div>What did the Pens offer? I bet it was not all that special, probably a forward which h is not what the Wings need.</div></div>
Wings do need forwards 28th in scoring last year and its been the problem the last few years(losing one goal games)-the defense/goal tending has at least managed a 21st(middle of the pack the last few years) I agree the defense is aging and need improvement, but the #1 problem with this team is they can not score period. hopefully the kids will pick it up this year, but they need to infuse some offense somehow

Good offence, Terrible defence and questionnable goaltending
I agree with the premise but not the title-wings were horrible on offense last year 28th of 31 teams- defense/goal tending(GA) middle of the pack 21st. offense has been the problem the last few years-they need more skilled wingers. Hopefully Ras and Z will help that.

Trade with detroit, who says no to this?
Kronwall had 27 pts on a red wings team that cant score goals(which would be good for third highest point total for current leafs dmen), Deal would be good for detroit to clear cap and allow younger players playing time and could be little risk high reward for the leafs(I would move kronner for draft pick alone)

SO detroit gives AA(and his affordable low $ contract) and two draft picks for two large contracts of players that wont help detroit at all ----- ouch

Ken Holland and Jeff Blashill will return so this will be the roster
tavares only makes like 5.5 mil on his first deal and he's way better than any of them-7 mil that's like 105,000 per point for larkin- I like those players but not that much-larkin 6 mil max(hopefully 5.5) Mantha is the scorer(which is why the wings keep losing-no offense) 5 mil and double A--hopefully no more than 3-3.5mil

another waste of time
wings are worst team in the league in cap terms----and need to cut whatever contracts they can-Holland continues to over value his players. Just make the deals when they arise - there will be no bidding wars. They need to get picks or prospects----if they take $ in players back they need to attempt to flip for more picks--take advantage of these contender teams. that and smart free agent pick ups(smaller length terms-aging veterans 1-2 yrs max-smaller terms-so they can deal next deadline) they have been middle of the road for like ten years now. Everybody should be in play. At this rate we will be lucky to make any deals

yeah none of them will go down----but the wings need to cut bait with most of those players-too many bad deals with long terms. The only player i would miss is Double A. Any deals to cut the payroll going forward is a good deal--------Lupul is free agent after this year just balancing some of the salary out--------you would be lucky to get a first for old man Z and vegas has the money to pay him----------cut payroll go after Tavares or Karlson and give the kids a go.
