Description
Get rid of the Steen contract and get something for Bouw before he walks in free agency.

There are always insane moves being made on this site, so this is a little more realistic. The Blues are 3 points out of a wild card spot and have at least a game in hand of most of those teams ahead of them. Is there a chance a blockbuster trade is made? Yes... But with the increased chance of making the playoffs, I personally do not think Petro/Senko/Schenn/Schwartz will be moved. You never know though.

Arizona is very banged up and need bodies. They have been linked to Steen in the past, so why not now? Steen is versatile and can play any forward position, something the Yotes need with all their injuries. As players come back Steen can be moved up and down the lineup and in any forward position. He also brings some leadership to a fairly young team. Blues eat 1.25mil to make the contract easier on Arizona.

Get something for Bouw before he walks, similar to the Shatty trade from a couple years ago. Many people think Petro could be going to the Leafs, but the Leafs need money for their young forwards. Toronto needs a reliable top 4 d-man and Bouw has shown he is just that over the past two months. This is easier for Toronto, because they will not have Bouw's money on the book next year and use that money elsewhere.

Leafs aren't paying that for Bouw, and they want a RHD. More realistic to have them get Schmaltz or Bortuzzo. If Bouw was traded it's most likely for a 3rd rounder and that's it. Shattenkirk was a legit top 4 young d man. Bouw is not.

Steen trade, maybe. I don't see him waiving for ARZ though.

I doubt Zona has any interest in Steen and he has no interest in going there.

You won’t get much more than a 3rd for JayBo.

I still think Pietrangelo and Schenn have a strong shot at being traded. Pietrangelo because trading him begins the culture change and Schenn because he’s got 1 year after this and will he passed on the depth chart by Thomas as soon as the end of this year.

They have been moving Schenn out to the wing recently and he has been having success, so he could play alongside Thomas. I think Petro is more of an offseason move, the trade deadline has not been very exciting in the past handful of years so I don't think that will change. Like I said in the description, anything is possible, but these are more common deadline type moves.

I reduced the Bouw trade. He might get more than a 3rd, because there aren't a lot of top 4 d-men being shopped... If Toronto wanted a bottom pair defensemen, they would have picked up Schmaltz off waivers. That was only a couple weeks ago and the Leafs have needed defense all season. Not sure why they would trade for a player they could have got for nothing days ago.
