NYI deals are sensible. I don't mind them

We'll get more then a single 2nd round pick for Nyquist with retention we should get a late 2018 1st round pick with no retention we should get a 2018 2nd round pick+2019 2nd round pick.

Only deal here that really makes sense here is the NYI. Goalie for goalie deals are tough. A guy can get hot and play his way out of struggles, and I'm a big believer that Mrazek can do that. Especially if the team in front of him is better. As an outsider, I can see where there would be value in trading Nyquist, but wouldn't you want that type of talent to be a part of your team as part of a rebuild? If you get rid of him you best hope there's a pick and a mid level prospect coming back the other way. The leafs are the last team that needs forward depth. I would try that deal with someone else, perhaps Anaheim, St. Louis, LA, or another team who needs an extra body for a playoff run.

Quick question: Would you trade Nyquist to Boston for Matt Beleskey + Bos 1st 2018 + Rob O'Gara + Fringe player like Blidh or Schaller or Czarnik? I think if you were looking to tank you wouldn't mind eating Beleskeys contract for 3 years in order to get a better pick + O'Gara is a decent stay at home dman and also your choice of bottom 6 F. The value is probably off a bit, but doesn't seem too far from you getting a 2nd for Nyquist and a 4th from another team.

Values all seem pretty good. Well done.

I know you said to any team, but I do have to question of all 30 other teams you chose the Leafs to give a depth forward to.. Lol. We have SO many.

Anyway. I agree Detroit should follow your steps. Especially getting rid of Holland.
