Hawks Selling this season to prepare for next season

Hawks are not making the playoffs this year. There are players the hawks need to get rid of. Also IF Hossa is on LTIR again next year, Hawks should trade his contract to use his cap space for the Offseason.

You start by saying the hawks aren't going to make the playoffs, but none of these moves will help them in the future, so whats the point of this?

I'm curious as to why Hartman needs to be traded. Last season 19 goals, at 14 points in 27 games he's on pace for over 40 pts....is it just to get rid of Hossa's contract? If that's the case, I don't think they need to. Other teams have been allowed to keep players on LTIR for seasons. Pronger was working for the league office & his contract was still being traded.
