pens have traded for alex nylander
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Garak</b></div><div>Do you understand how many players have been and are still being mismanaged in CHI? He did great in his first season with the Hawks, with 26 points in 65 games at 21 years old. And he is still only 23, he is still more technically talented than his brother, we traded Joki for him which makes this return even more painful, He still has a lot of upside, and we still have way too many bottom 6 skaters. He still could have been something in CHI if he was given a better opportunity. They could have at least gotten a pick for him. Lafferty does absolutely nothing for CHI and no one is going to give us anything for him if we try to flip him. Awful trade...</div></div>
The thing is they couldn't get a pick for him. He has no value. And if you watched his first year in Chicago he looked terrible, doesn't know how to play away from the puck and had terrible compete level. He'll be 24 in May, that's not that young in todays NHL.

Not sure what this guy is doing but I dont trust him for the TDL
You realize they waived Subban at the start of the season and anyone could've claimed him for nothing, right? They wanted to get Söderblom more starts and had too many goalies, it was a good movie. The Kyrs trade wasn't great but there's a logjam of D prospects and he was taking ice time away from better prospects. And finally Nylander...we all know he's potential and nothing else. He's never going to be anything and the fact that he couldn't crack the Hawks active roster at any point this year is telling. The guy has 12 points in 23 games this year...in the AHL! He can't play bottom six and won't ever reach is potential of top six. He'll be 24 in May and some guys are late bloomers but he's not showing any signs of that.
Overall they are a bunch of nothing trades that simply open ice time up for better players. I'm excited to see what Davidson can do at the deadline.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Drshnuckels91</b></div><div>That trade is so bad omg gave up 3 firsts and two already top 15 and one could be could be top 15 again so thats potentially 3 top 15 picks and a second for seth jones on a bad contract.</div></div>
They got a first back all be it at the end of the round and Boquist is a bust, lucky they were able to trick a team into thinking he has value. Hawks got an elite Dman and will make the playoffs so it'll likely be after 20 overall. Great trade for the Hawks. Just wait a year and see

The point was they're all former Hawks one way or another. And for the record almost all of them were traded away. Only Crawford and Duclair walked, and Hayes was drafted and not signed. Literally everyone else was traded.
