I don’t know about that, I’ll take Keith in a playoff series and in the locker room.

You are out of your mind if you think Keith would be anything but a top 4 D on the Canucks. Get out of here with that BS. Vancouver would be lucky to have him on their blue line.

Trade deadline seller but still make playoffs

Rather trade him then lose him for nothing.
Quick question... did you think this team was a playoff team before the Nylander trade? If so, has the loss of Jokiharju soured your opinion of the roster so greatly? The hawks were playing at near 100 point pace down the stretch last season, and damn near made the playoffs all without Jokiharju.
You can argue that stanbowman has only improved the nhl roster, which joki likely did not fit into (Immediately) anyways.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChiHawk</b></div><div>This team isn't making the playoffs. Take an objective look at this roster. Murphy is a top pair and Mitchell is going to jump in and give us the last 3rd of the season push to the playoffs? Keith isn't a top pair anymore. Trade out a 60 point defender before the playoff push...that makes sense.</div></div>
I think that if the Hawks are in a playoff position by the TDL, they keep Gus as their own rental, but after this season there's no way he sticks around (unless he's willing to take a 1 year deal). There is no way he and Boqvist, let alone both of them and Beaudin, can be in the top 6 at the same time. That's how you lose games 8-7 night after night. This defense is much better than last year, but still not good. I don't think Joki pushes this team over the edge, but having a young guy like him who we know would be able to play a good number of games at high minutes would have made us all feel a bit better than only having the unknowns that are Boqvist, Beaudin, and Mitchell.

Dude this isn't gonna happen. Would you want to trade our 1st for Toffoli, Forbort, Durzi, Wagner, and a middle second? I sure as hell wouldn't. Quality over quantity is important. Also, the Hawks got extremely lucky with the lottery and will definitely be able to make due with just one top 5 pick. They can definitely build around a center like Cozens, Dach, or Turcotte as they move into the next stage of their half-rebuild.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChiHawk</b></div><div>That trade is so bad for the hawks. Not a chance the Hawks move both Boqvist and Gus, they need that type of player. Gus was the ONLY reason the PP is now a top 5 unit versus being dead last. You literally give both of them plus Krys sacrificing our future defense. Forsling and or Perlini likely to get traded. Where is Mitchell, Kurashev, Barratt? Do you honestly think none of these guys come up? Do you know anything about the prospect pool? Carlsson is another one. Highmore is a center. I see you post AGM after AGM and you are so far off on most of them, spend a little time looking at the prospect pool.</div></div>
He’s not the one that’s off here. Looking at the CHI prospect pool, none of them are ready yet and I get this is intended to be next season but no one realistically will know if they’ll be ready. Who knows if they’ll need more development. I disagree with this trade but you don’t need to sound like a gigantic self-centred little kid while voicing your opinion. He has a right to express his views just as much as you have a right to express yours. Stop jumping down people’s throats and chill the **** out

You know what I hate as much as all these bad Habs fans AGMs? All these other teams trying to pond Pacioretty off as a virtually valueless player now who they then immediately play on the top line of their teams.......Equally annoying.

Its what happens when I'd say a quarter of the CF posters on here are Habs fans. Arizona would be no different but there's only a 1 maybe 2 on here. :laugh
All jokes aside, i get that the trades are bad, I agree and Im a Habs fan but blame the individuals, not the idea of Pacioretty going to Chicago. As if that is the worst thing that could ever happen. The guy is freaking stud. Any team would be lucky to have him. Just not at any price.

I get not wanting to see bad trades, those need to stop I agree but picking an choosing where they go? Damn man. There is going to be like 5 AGM's per day then... and at least two of them will probably be Troll posts...
What If its a good trade for Chicago, you wouldn't want to see that?

They are on record saying they would like a experienced D man in the locker room, Dale Tallon drafted Seabrook, taxes are lower in Florida, more games in Florida means more money for Seabrook, Imnot seeing a negative for him other than moving his family from cold cold Chicago to sunny beach Florida. You have a point however, this contract will be much harder to move.</div></div>
Even if they want a vet on the back end, Seabrook is still a terrible option. There are probably 50+ players that could fill that spot, none of whom would have the cap or the term that Seabrook does. Hell even Phaneuf would be a better option.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Stan_Bowman</b></div><div>Not sure that’s worth a 1 Star, how about instead of making a throw away statement about the trade you suggest how to make it better.</div></div>
1) Florida is trying to contend soon, so taking on 5 million of garbage cap hit for the next 6 years would be catastrophic.
2) Seabrook has a full NMC for the next 4 seasons, and he's not going to waive it to go to some bottomfeeder team, and no contending team is going to take him.
3) even IF he does choose to waive, the way that contract is structured is going to scare off teams that might take on bad contracts for assets. teams like ARI, CAR, OTT etc are all about saving actual money, and they can't really do that with this contract. it's way too bonus heavy for them to want to deal with, even when he inevitably goes on LTIR.
4) Even IF he does waive his NMC, and IF they can find a team to take his contract, the cost for Chicago is going to have to be obscene. Any GM worthy of the position is going to make Bowman bleed like a stuck pig. It's probably going to be a guy like Debrincat or Jokiharu AND at least one pick in the first three rounds. Bowman has absolutely no leverage in that situation. He'll either pony up or (more likely) he'll just sit on that awful contract until it expires.
That contract is impossible to move. Maybe things change in 4 years when the NMC becomes an partial NTC and he's likely on LTIR, but that's a long way away.

Anisimov is far from the best third line center just look at the depth charts in the league Pens, Preds, Sharks, Ducks, lighting, leafs, knights, caps, jets, stars, bruins all have 3rd line centers that can give him a run. That being said he could fit in at second line center there is no way the canes take Hossa and retain on darling.

No way in hell is adding the best D-Man in the game, a sniper in Kovalchuck, top 3 prospect in Brady Tkchuck, solid back up goalie in Anderson and a faceoff stud and skilled player like Duchene hurting the team at the expense of loosing Saad (seems broken) Schmaltz (who might turn into a good 2 way wing and long shot at a legit #2 center) Anisimov (when hes healthy is an overpaid #3 center) Forsling (#4 dman at best if he really turns a corner) Duclair (who has already been traded 3 x in his career and does not seem to fit with Q) Forsberg (who proved he can't be counted on) #27 pick this year (but you still have #3) yes you sacrifce #1 next year but who says you cant shake a #1 pick next year via some other type of deal next offseason.</div></div>
Your bottom 6 is terrible, first of all. Vinnie isn't a center and neither is Hayden. You only have Toews and Kampf who can kill a penalty. Kovalchuk is not the same, Tkachuk is probably a 3rd liner in his first pro season. Like I already said, Schmaltz is better than Duchene, even at center. More points and better defensively. This is not a playoff team and you have no draft picks upcoming and a bunch of expensive contracts to pay for. You would be trading Karlsson and Duchene at the deadline to start the rebuild.
