love it. even if Nylander doesn't become something, Lafferty has essentially 0 value

coming back from an injury like he had is tough, but I love a good high draft pick with a potential comeback story

Horrible for CHI.

lol he couldn't even crack the Hawks active roster.....he has 12 points in 23 games...in the AHL!! Guy stinks and has no value. No one was going to give up anything of value for him.

Do you understand how many players have been and are still being mismanaged in CHI? He did great in his first season with the Hawks, with 26 points in 65 games at 21 years old. And he is still only 23, he is still more technically talented than his brother, we traded Joki for him which makes this return even more painful, He still has a lot of upside, and we still have way too many bottom 6 skaters. He still could have been something in CHI if he was given a better opportunity. They could have at least gotten a pick for him. Lafferty does absolutely nothing for CHI and no one is going to give us anything for him if we try to flip him. Awful trade...

The thing is they couldn't get a pick for him. He has no value. And if you watched his first year in Chicago he looked terrible, doesn't know how to play away from the puck and had terrible compete level. He'll be 24 in May, that's not that young in todays NHL.

He did not look terrible. He looked like a young player. This team has been mismanaged for too many years and that completely includes Nylanders development and usage. We were better off keeping him and letting his contract expire or resigning him and giving him another shot in a legit rebuild where he wasn't being rushed.
