I get that we can debate about who will sign and for how much. I think I'm in a general ballpark and if some of the RFA guys get +/- a few hundred thou (or simply don't ever crack the team) then so be it. I mostly just wanted to see what cap space might look like getting the core re-signed to see what they might have to work with. I have them signing UFA Tyler Myers that off-season which I think would be a solid add to the top-4, but will be surprised if Buffalo doesn't re-up him. I could see Babcock looking at an older, familiar guy like Kronwall on a 1-2 year deal to fill the gap instead.

I think the amount and term for Marner and Nylander will depend largely on how next season goes. They could be in line for a 2-3 year bridge around $5m or longer term north of $6m.

Matthews around $12m seems appropriate. I'd love to see a scenario where both him and Tavares agree to sign closer to $10m but it just seems pie in the sky. I much prefer the idea of Nylander on Matthews' wing and Johhny T with Marner on the 2nd line. Nylander has told Babcock he'd like a shot at playing C so maybe he gets that opportunity to do that full time once Bozak is gone.

I personally think $6m is where Gardiner ends up on a length deal unless they have the inside track on another D-man and need those cap dollars elsewhere. I'm not sure he's worth $6m but will be surprised if he signs for less.

General talk seems to suggest that Dermott and Liljigren look decent on the Marlies. Within two years I think one or both will get a look with the big club.

I'll agree with Nylander and maybe even Marner sign bridge deals. Maybe the both players think they have more to offer and get in the future. But teams do not offer four year deals cause it leads a player right into UFA. So likely a two year bridges, and it would be for a lesser amount I would think.
Does the erratic Gardiner stay a Leaf, personally I don't think so, but if he can stabilize his play maybe. Seems too much $$$ and term for Myers.
