Filling holes (giggity)

Created by: Texus
Team: 2018-19 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 30, 2017
Published: Dec. 30, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Goal projections:

Drouin (25) – RNH (20) – Hornqvist (21)
Byron (15) – Danault (15) – Gallagher (23)
Lehkonen (20) – Poehling (12) – Shaw (13)
Hudon (14) – Evans (10) – Scherbak (10)
Total: 198

Maatta (5) – Weber (15)
Alzner (3) – Petry (7)
Mete (3) – Benn (3)
Total: 36

Total: 234, 2.85/gm

Wouldn't be an offensive powerhouse by any stretch but at least it's a more balanced roster, and pretty young on average. Only giving up one prospect and draft pick. Ikonen, Juulsen, Fleury, Walford, Vejdemo, Bitten, Addison, and 2018 pick (likely top 10) in the mix moving forward.

patches is worth more then RNH
30 goals scorers ALWAYS are .
FFS Kozlov never scored 30 again after leaving
he still demanded Dominik Hasek in his prime in return i **** you not

E.Kane got a 1st round pick and 4 prospects (3 former 1st rounds and a former 2nd)

Kane was 24 years old with multiple years left on his contract. Patch will be 30 next season, which is also his last before becoming UFA, so I don't think it's comparable at all. Not to mention, Patch is not a 30 goal scorer this season. Will he be again? Maybe, especially with a talented playmaking center to play with, but also maybe not. It's not uncommon at all for goal scoring wingers' production to start declining at 30 years old, especially those whose speed is important to their scoring, and Patch seems to have lost a step this season. A better comparable would probably be the Marian Gaborik trade to Columbus, which saw Derek Brassard (a similar player to RNH) being the main piece going the other way.

Nugent-Hopkins is 5 years younger than Patch, plays a more important position, is a very good defensive player, and is also more productive than Pacioretty this season. Given where they both are right now, he is easily the more valuable player.

hence me using Kozlov as the primary so you couldnt manipulate the narrative like you are currently trying.
i saw it coming because people with nothing to say always make excuses

see your error is trying to value what they could do .
in the NHL you get paid primarily based on results hence over paid contracts like
Plekanec, DD,Emelin and so many others .

if your logic on any level made sense players wouldnt be overpaid lol .
nor would players like Marchesault be floating around .

Kozlov again was seasons removed from his last 30 goals season and still demanded Hasek the leagues best goalie .
the reality is being a multiple 30 goal scorer isnt as common as you pretend it is

Lol ok citing a bad trade that happened 16 years ago under a completely different CBA and when there was no salary cap, yeah great comparison squinty smile.

"Manipulating the narrative" I'm just citing facts about the Kane trade, and why it obviously isn't a good template to use for a potential Pacioretty trade. The comp I used is much closer to the mark, don't you agree?

I am taking into account what both players have done, but a trade is a not a contract negotiation. You have to project what both players will do with your own group of players in the future. Plus age and contract are major factors in determining trade value.
