Someone is leaving "The City of Champions" but odds are its Draisaitl (ahead of RNH). Nurse's name is coming up in news reports, but I think that's strictly a numbers game on the blue line. All are quality players who will fetch a nice price at the market.

I like the idea behind this trade, though I agree with OilerFan13 that the offer is a little light. Habs need to put another asset in the mix, maybe JDLR or a pick.

Pittsburgh is not a great option for Pleks and the Habs would no doubt need to take back $3M for the rest of the season (no sweat there). I would suggest NJD or Vegas are better options as both need his skill set.

The big question I have in all of this for Montreality25 is what do you plan to do with $18M in free cap space when you hit the UFA market?

Pens are in the market for a 3rd line shutdown guy. Devils already have a boat load of centers. Agreed on eating $3M tho.

Little too much for MTL... I think they are more willing to trade Klefbom than Nurse and Add Lekhonen or Carr and I think it will become a fair value IMO

Galchenyuk for RNH is closer to fair market value here.

I would imagine that (RNH for Galchenyuk) would be an easy trade for both GMs to consider. Both are talented, but flawed. RNH is considered a bit soft by the league's GMs, but Galchenyuk has some questions about self-discipline and a father who spends most of the season in Montreal and seems intent on living his unfulfilled NHL dreams through him. Habs fans have rarely seen the best of Galchenyuk's gifts because he has been beaten down by an overbearing father and unimaginative coaching. It's a real shame.

Totally spot on Sir, Yeah i think for both Bergevin and Chiarelli the Galchenyuk for Nugent-Hopkins makes the most sense and like you said would be the easiest deal for both GMs to make.

As a habs and oilers fan I say, embrace the tank. Get top-10 picks and you'll be in the playoffs next year. Also don't draft Tkachuk. He's an idiot like his brother. And Edmonton, hold onto Drai, he's a young Malkin. Trade Nuge for a cheaper player at the draft. Montreal at least try JoDro at center for the rest of the season, then maybe trade for a C at the draft.

I don't disagree, but the Draisaitl train might have left the station. It sounds as if the infighting among some Oilers players because off-ice issues has created a toxic locker room. That would seem to explain why they can't win this year.

If Pacioretty/Drasaitl are to be traded I hope that they are traded to eachother's repective teams because they are both great players.

Couldn't agree more. I'll be sorry to see Max go and he will help the Oilers from day 1, but LD sounds like a player around which a team can grow. Win/Win.
