The more I see the patches for RNH trade, the more I hate it for MTL and the more I hate it for Edmonton too tbh. They are only getting their piece for 1.5 years while MTL gets theirs at 3.5 years. Centers are more valuable also which is why I hate it for Edmonton. Edmonton I feel also has a bigger need for a RHD. Maybe something like Petry + Galchenyuk for RNH + Lucic. That would make room for Juulsen to take that 2nd RD spot and not force MTL to pay over 5 mil for a 3rd pair RD. Edmonton gets a 2nd pair RHD and solidifies their top 4 and gets out of the Lucic experiment. And it’s only like +2 mil in cap for Montreal so they can afford it. At least for the next 2 years. Just kind of spit balling. Possibly throw in a pick from Edmonton for MTL taking the bigger contract in Lucic.

The big problem with that is we have Gallagher and Shaw that already play that role so we don't need Lucic.

A Lucic-Shaw-Gallagher line could be a solid and frustrating line to play against. That’s the way I was looking at it.

Edmonton would need to retain on Lucic.

They wouldn’t retain. Probably would add a pick though. I don’t think a deal like this would happen, I just don’t really like the idea of MTL giving up patches now that they will actually be getting a decent center
