Well you could get McKeown instead of the picks from Carolina in the Lehner trade...in theory. But I had a trade for Larsson from ANA already plus assumed 2018 1st pick used on D.

As a Canes fan, I can say he is definitely available. I highly doubt we would trade him for Lehner as we need a forward or 3. Don't think GMRF will bring in another goalie this year and will give Darling another year.

Yeah my assumption was that they give up on Darling who has been shocking. I assume we could get a similar return in picks from another team anyway (Islanders for example).

Itd be nice if olofsson could jump straight from the SHL to the NHL but he'll definitely spend time in Rochester.

I think he will start in Rochester, but his NHL scoring equivallency projects to like a 25G season. Will probably be lower than that because of sheltered ice time, but if he does make the big club eventually he will probably get 1st line PP because of the cannon he has.

Would Carolina do a lotto protected 1st and McKeown for Kane with an extension in place?

Anaheim laughs. Would do Reinhart for Larsson, but not a rental Kane.

The NHL isnt a comparable league, so i'd like to know where that number came from. Even the leagues best scorers over the last decade and a half, aside from Zuccarello, have struggled with the NHL. Soderberg had 31 goals 60 points 5 years ago. His goals dropped by half the next year (first in the NHL) and have continued to drop off since. Its a hard transition. He's a 7th round pick, if they got a bottom 6 player out of it thats a win.

I'm not saying I fully expect him to produce at this level but these are the numbers.

Youre expecting him to get 42 goals this year? That'd be one of the best performances in league history

Where are you getting 42 Goals from? A .6 translation factor from the SHL leads to 25-26G. I still think that's high but that type of production is nothing to sneeze at even if it's 20

To be honest, while I think Kane is probably the exact kind of player we need. I just don't think GMRF would shake up our locker room with a guy like Kane. We have far more of a need for a Center as we have quite a few wings coming up who are killing it in our system. I know BUF is hesitant to trade a guy like ROR but unless you are willing to negotiate on Sam, ROR is the only other guy on your team that fits our system, play style and culture.

Just what Carolina needs another average goalie. And the suggestion that the Canes give up anything that large for an "extension in place" is for Kane is. nonsensical.

              42 SHL goals x .6 translation factor = 25 NHL goals
              He's currently at 21 (21 x .6 = 13). Hes on pace for 32 which would be cool (32 x .6 = 19)
