I've been wondering about Austen Matthews also. I'm sure the NHL and Coyotes would love to get him sign in his home town. Something like your deal is a possibility especially if Arizona has a pick 2 to 5.
Robidas not moveable and either is Phanuef without taking serious money back, especially to defence laden Dallas. My ideal trade deadline is Polak and Parenteau for Honda. Please no Percy, Harrington on my team either.

No. If you get the chance to pick Matthews,Laine,Pulju you dont trade that pick away.

HI Jimbo: It would be interesting debate if lets's say Edmonton gets number 1 pick overall and Arizona number 2. Would both teams agree to swap for lets say Matthews for Pulj, Domi and 1st?
Be very courageous for any GM to do the deal. Just getting back to Aurorean trade. Dvorkak, Domi and Laine or Pulji for Matthews and a 35th pick. As a Leaf, think I would do it.

I would most definitely trade 1 asset for 3 really good assets (this would be a better return than what Leafs got for Kessel)
you get a good young nhl player, a high end prospect and a mid range first rounder for Matthews (and Arizona is motivated for Matthews since he's from there)
+ why not have more London Knight players on the Leafs (Domi, Marner, Dvorak, Kadri)
I was also thinking Dylan Strome as replacement for Dvorak (1 of the two)
We need to get these kids on the leafs asap... Im tired of watching veteran players who I know are not going to take us anywhere and wont be on the team in the future
this year has been very painful to watch.

Aurorean: I don't mind that the Leafs have the kids in the AHL. Hoping next year at the latest there is about 4 graduates to the Leafs, 4 the next year, and 4 the next.
The Leafs seem to have hit the wall, and yes they are getting painful to watch.
Your name, are you from nearby Aurora?

palhal, yes I live in Aurora.
dont get me wrong, I like the prospects coming up the system ... when I watch, I celebrate when they score, but keep looking at the standings hoping they stay as low as possible.

hopefully, they have a good trade deadline, and really are able to move some of these 1 year contracts for picks or prospects.
maybe everything will line up and just as they are getting good, my kids will be the right age to enjoy a stanley cup win with me!
