We don’t want Plekanec for anything more than a 2nd, and we don’t even really want to give up a 2nd for him, either.

Definetly should get more, considering Duchene's return

i think pac can fetch a top 6 center, or a top 4 d, plus a high pick. but his value could sky rocket, assuming a lot of teams start going all in for offense. we all know most gms go crazy during tdl. i always go back to the point of martin hanzal. if he can fetch a 1st rd pick, pac can fetch way more

You're definitely not getting a 1st from PIT. They have 1 of the worst prospect pipeline in the league. I doubt they even give you a 2nd. I can't see any team giving up a 1st for him. The 1 team I see giving up a 2nd, is CBJ. Dubinski is still recovering from a broken face. And I think Tortorela would love Plekanec

I love Duchene and he's more of my type of player than Pacioretty. But when Pacioretty is firing on all cylinders psychologically, it's undeniable that he can put up 40+ goals if he plays with a true #1 center for once in his life. Even a true #2.
Just on the fact that he's put up 30+ goals 5 times in his career while being centered by Desharnais and Plekanec, if I'm the Habs...I'm happy with Thomas and Kyrou. They're STL's top 2 prospects, but apart from them, their pipeline is solid.

agreed. but at the end, the market will determine his price, and dont be surprised when teams start bidding for him.

Bidding war?... I just can't see that many teams duking it out. I'm only basing this on rumors...the constant teams that I keep on hearing that are interested are ANA, LA, NSH, STL and PIT. From what I've read PIT, LA, ANA prospect pipelines are ranked at the bottom of the league. I just don't see them wanting to give up what little they have. I think it will be between NSH and STL. But...NSH is stacked with D prospects (RD to be more specific) and STL with F prospects. I'm head over heals for Thomas but surprisingly Kyrou is ranked higher on the prospect chart cause he can play wing and C.
