Offseason and TDL to shape next year

Created by: TommyBPickles
Team: 2018-19 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 19, 2018
Published: Jan. 19, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I ran NHL draft lottery sim to see what our pick would be and we got the 5th and drafted Boqvist if they thought he was going to go before they pick I could see them trading up to get him.
Between Thomas, Poehling, Danault and RNH I beleive Montreal would finally be good down the middle the big question mark is whether Thomas is a 1C in the future.
The other hope is that Mete or Boqvist develops into a top pairng D.
This team would most likely still not be great next year but at least there would be hope unlike the current garbage

Pretty good team for the future but you have problems down the middle (RNH at first line). Also, Boqvist doesn't play left side he'd likely play on the right. I like how you kept Galchenyuk because while he hasn't done so well this year I thought for parts of last year he was excellent. I think he can play like that again if he is played properly.

Ya I expect this team to struggle next year and maybe even the year after that, Once Thomas can take over the top Line duties they would turn it around. Boqvist playing right really screws up this team lol

Some good ideas.
Alzner is tough to move so we may be stuck with him for at least another couple of years.
I think the habs are giving up too much for Karlson for only one year....with Weber already here, its hard to resign him after.
I disagree with the previous response that the middle is weak.
In fact, I like RNH as 1C while Thomas comes to.
I would swith up the lines looking something like this though:

Drouing, RNH, Galchenyuk
Gallagher, Thomas, Scherbak
Byron, Danault, Shaw
Carr, DLR, Deslauriers
(Poehlig needs some time in the minors along with Evans, would much rather keep a veteran presence as back up for the 4th line) - give guys like Terry, Froese, a try.
