I honestly think this makes more sense if it's the 2018 1st and the trade happens at the deadline. NJD should make the playoffs in 2018.... 2019 they could be picking top 10 again so I'd think they'd rather give their playoff 1st. Maybe need to add from NJ side. Probably another B+ / B prospect would make me think it was closer.

Agreed on the draft pick, would much rather them give up the playoff pick than the lottery or higher one. NJ has a ton of forward prospects too so I don’t see why they wouldn’t be willing to add another project forward

Carlson will want 7 years at the deal and that trade for OEL isn't even close Severson is the only decent piece good luck afford both Carlson and OEL both will cost you $8+ million each.

Quenneville is not bad hes got 21 pts in 29 games so far this year. You have no idea what teh '19 first is going to be so you really cant say. OEL will be 8 but Carlson can't command that. 6.5-7 sure, I know its not much but 1.5 will make a diff
