None of the trades make Chicago much better, Chicago's time in the sun is over, they're going to see mediocrity for the next few years and as each year goes by Toews and Kane are gonna get harder to trade. The best thing for Chicago to do is to blow up the team in the offseason, trade Toews and Kane for big hauls. Restock the prospects because their roster can't compete with the likes of the Jets, Stars, Blues, Preds, or Wild, and with the Avs getting their crap together Chicago will be at the bottom of Central for a while.

If I were in charge of the Blackhawks, I would try and rebuild sooner rather than later. I think the Hawks are foolish to go for it when they are unsure about even getting to the playoffs. The longer, they holdoff, the less they will get with trades.

The Hawks are in the middle of a rebuild on the fly right now with over half their roster being 25 or young.
