Blues aren't going to ship off Stastny if they're heading into the playoffs. But if they did, they could just deal directly with LAK and get another C prospect and a 2018 1st.

I wonder if Chucky could get that return from LAK (J A-D+1st)?

Galchenyuk is a great player. If an organization actually used him properly and didn't treat him like garbage all the time. Stastny wasn't a throw in, he was meant for value to flip to get parts. Patches and Galchenyuk aren't going to get traded for Thomas and Kyrou alone. I believe Blues get the 2 best players currently, and both are under good contracts for next year as well. OF course, I understand your beliefs on your team from other posts, and just threw this out there as Galchenyuk rumours are still floating about (I hate the idea of trading him, but this is a deal I would accept from the Habs POV)

I gotcha - I'm just thinking if the end result is MTL receiving JA-D + 1st + Thomas + Kyrou, maybe they could could make that happen without any Stastny movement (since it's the most unrealistic part of it). Patches for Gunnarsson + Thomas + Kyrou, Chucky for JA-D + 1st?

(You probably know this, but I don't like the thought of trading Thomas and Kyrou)

NJ doesn't need another bottom pairing Dman. If the Devils are going to trade for another Dman, it will be for a top pairing LHD because that's what they are missing. Greene, Moore and Mueller are all very serviceable 2nd pairs and Butcher is locked in at 3rd pairing
